# PartFinder API ## PartFinder API A REST API for supply-chain intelligence on industrial and electronic parts, built for backend engineers and the agents they build. Every response is JSON with scores on a stated scale, units on every measure, a reason wherever a value is missing, and a summary sentence an agent can relay. - Research a part (GET /v1/parts): a composite risk score, current distributor availability, a datasheet link, the live disruption events that touch the part, alternate parts and recommended actions, for any manufacturer part number. - Find alternate parts (GET /v1/alternates): up to five parts that could replace a part number, each with its current stock, distributor count, lead time and lifecycle. - Search for parts (POST /v1/search): search by part number or by description and get the part and comparable parts, with their datasheets, key specifications and stock. - Compare parts (POST /v1/compare): parts side by side on the specifications that matter for that kind of part, read from each datasheet, with a verdict per specification and current stock. - Analyze a BOM (POST /v1/bom, or a CSV or XLSX file to POST /v1/bom/upload): a risk score, gap flags and current supply for every line we can score, plus the BOM's average, distribution and country breakdown. - Track supply-chain disruptions (GET /v1/events): active disruption events, the countries hit, and current port and sea-route activity. - Requests for quote (POST /v1/rfq): email a request for quote to a supplier, read their replies with the quote laid out, and answer in the same email thread. - Webhooks (POST /v1/webhooks): a signed event when a supplier replies, a request for quote bounces, or a search or a comparison ends. ### Get started Are you an AI agent? Fetch https://docs.partfinder.dev/skill.md 1. Create an account at https://console.partfinder.dev/sign-up and pick pay as you go or a monthly or yearly plan (see https://partfinder.dev/pricing). Pay as you go starts with 100 free credits, once per person and per company. 2. Create an API key in the console. Keys belong to your organization. 3. Send the key with every call in the Authorization header: `Authorization: Bearer `. Base URL: https://api.partfinder.dev 4. Call GET /v1/ping to confirm the key works; it costs nothing. MCP server: https://api.partfinder.dev/mcp. It takes the same API key, in the same Authorization header. ### What each call costs Calls are counted in credits. Calls not listed here are free (checking a key, reading a job's result, lists, deletes, keys and webhooks). A call we refuse is not charged, and a call that fails on our side is not charged. - GET /v1/parts: 20 credits per call - POST /v1/search: 40 credits per search - POST /v1/bom: 25 credits per line - POST /v1/bom/upload: 25 credits per line - POST /v1/compare: 4 credits per part compared - GET /v1/alternates: 1 credit per call - POST /v1/rfq: 1 credit per call - POST /v1/rfq/{id}/messages: 1 credit per call - GET /v1/events: 1 credit per call - GET /v1/events/{id}: 1 credit per call - GET /v1/events/countries: 1 credit per call - GET /v1/events/shipping: 1 credit per call A comparison counts every part in it, the reference part included. A part sent alone to be compared with its alternates holds 24 credits (6 parts, the most a comparison can have) until the comparison ends, then gives back the credits for the parts it did not compare. ### Plans - Pay as you go: $0.0167 per credit, no monthly fee; 100 free credits to start, once per person and per company - Starter: $100 a month, or $1,020 a year; 9,000 credits a month - Growth: $300 a month, or $3,060 a year; 30,000 credits a month - Scale: $1,000 a month, or $10,200 a year; 120,000 credits a month - Enterprise: custom price; credits and terms set by contract ### Links - [API documentation index](https://docs.partfinder.dev/llms.txt) - [Agent skill](https://docs.partfinder.dev/skill.md) - [OpenAPI document](https://api.partfinder.dev/v1/openapi.json) - [PartFinder API](https://partfinder.dev/api) - [Pricing](https://partfinder.dev/pricing) - [This API index](https://api.partfinder.dev/llms.txt)
